Background

Green Ponta Action, developed by Loyalty Marketing, Inc. (President & CEO: Tsuyoshi Hasegawa), is a smartphone application launched on iOS in April 2021 and Android in October 2021.

Built on the concept of “Changing the future through today’s actions,” the app enables users to contribute to a sustainable future through small, everyday activities such as walking, learning, making commitments, taking quizzes, and tracking sleep. By accumulating scores, users can progress through stages and earn Ponta points as rewards.

As of March 2025, Green Ponta Action had surpassed 1.2 million downloads.

Challenge

To sustain long-term operations, Loyalty Marketing sought a reliable revenue model for Green Ponta Action. While in-app advertising was a natural choice, the team was concerned that excessive or mismatched ads would disrupt the app’s unique worldview and negatively impact user experience.

At the same time, the company wanted to strengthen its social contribution model, which donates a portion of ad revenue to nonprofit and community organizations. The challenge was to secure stable, high-performing revenue streams without compromising the app’s mission and user engagement.

Compared with the domestic offerwall previously implemented, Green Ponta Action achieved more than a tenfold increase in revenue within just three months of introducing Playtime. In addition, ARPDAU  also improved 10x.
